Weight Vests

Increasing the intensity of a workout is as easy as wearing a vest; a weight training vest that is. Whether you are doing push-ups are working out with bodybuilding equipment, a weight vest can give you the edge you need to accelerate your results. Weight vests differ from their wrist, ankle, and thigh counterparts because with the other weights the part of the body that holds the weight performs the extra weight. When you wear a weight vest it’s not your chest that works harder, but your abdominal muscles. Whether you are performing aerobics, upper-body workouts, lower-body exercises, or strength training routines, you will expend more calories than if you didn’t wear the vest.

It can take some time for you body to adjust to having the extra weight to move. Weight vests are most beneficial when you gradually introduce them into a workout routine. Using the smallest increment of weight for the vest, you should allow your body to get accustomed to the extra weight by performing routine, non-exercise related activities while wearing the vest. As you feel stronger you can begin introducing the vest into your regular workout routine.

If weight vests are too loose, they can be uncomfortable to wear and/or become a distraction during your workout. Before you begin a routine, make sure it is comfort and fits snug yet not too tight. The GoFit GF-WV20 Weighted Vest was designed to provide a more comfortable fit. Although it is available in only one size, it includes two closures. Some weight vests are created to be worn by either men or women. The GoFit can be worn by both. This equipment is also easily adjustable. All you need to do to make adjustments to the weight is to remove or add weight packets. The weight packets are available in three-quarter pound weights.
